Brownstein Hyatt Farber Schreck is proud to announce that it has achieved Mansfield Certification Plus for 2022-2023. This is the sixth consecutive year the firm has achieved Mansfield Certification, which acknowledges its commitment to leading the charge toward greater diversity and inclusion in the legal industry. Brownstein was further recognized with the “Plus” designation for the fourth year in a row.
Mansfield Certification Plus, awarded by Diversity Lab, measures the structural changes and steps law firms have taken over the past year to ensure their paths to leadership—including lateral hiring, client pitch teams, promotions and appointments—are open and transparent to all qualified lawyers. Mansfield is focused on broadening the talent pool for consideration, including those historically underrepresented: women lawyers, underrepresented racial and ethnic lawyers, LGBTQ+ lawyers and lawyers with disabilities. The “Plus” designation indicates that firms including Brownstein have taken steps to increase inclusivity and diversity in leadership and measured progress.
“We’re proud our firm continues to achieve Mansfield Certification Plus,” said Ali Metzl, the firm’s chair of diversity, inclusion and equity and founder and co-chair of Brownstein’s Women’s Leadership Initiative. “We’ve participated in this effort since its inaugural version in 2018. The Mansfield framework has allowed us to broaden and deepen our commitment to fostering an equitable, diverse and inclusive firm and legal industry.”
Brownstein has committed to continuing this important work as part of Mansfield’s next certification cohort in 2023-2024.
